Oregon and China: Developing Strategies for Economic Development and Environmental Sustainability

The Asian Education Foundation is hosting a panel discussion on Oregon and China: Developing Strategies for Economic Development and Environmental Sustainability. This forum will be held on November 16, noon – 1:45 at Port of Portland.

The keynote speakers and panelists include the Speaker of the House, Dave Hunt, who recently led a legislative delegation to China; economist and state representative Jules Bailey, and Annette Price, State Government Relations Manager, Port of Portland, who were also on that trip; Jon Blumenauer, Managing Partner of Hutani, who recently traveled to China with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to discuss environmental policies with top Chinese leaders including the President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao; Jack Chu, CEO of TerraSolar Co. and Ocean Yuan, President of Grape Solar, Inc. and Executive Director of the China Solar Industry Consortium, the world’s largest conglomerate of photovoltaic manufacturers. The discussion will be moderated by Derrick Olsen, International Relations Officer of Business Oregon (Oregon Business Development Department).
